The Shiba Inu sheds quite a bit and will require extra maintenance to keep your house free of fur. It is considered to be a very quiet breed that rarely barks. It needs a lot of exercise and will be happiest when taken on lots of walks. The Shiba Inu receives excellent marks for health of dog from our users. It can live to be about 15 years old. It is truly man's best friend. It learns more slowly and can be difficult to train and is considered to be an exceptionally bright breed. The Shiba Inu was approved by the AKC in 1992.
